A man is dead after a house fire in Killingworth on Thursday night. Firefighters were called to a fire at 33 Bridle Path Trl. around 9:45 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire to the front of the building and upon conducting firefighting efforts.
A man was killed after a fire at a mobile home in Naugatuck early Friday morning. The fire was reported on Shadduck Road near Idleview Park just before 1:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they said the mobile home was fully engulfed in flames.
Several people are injured after a Massachusetts man's crime spree. It started when Juan Laporte, 32, of Springfield, crashed a car on I-91 in Wallingford. A Good Samaritan stopped by to see if Laporte needed help. Laporte got in her car, and she drove him to the Sunoco gas station on South Colony Road with the intent of calling police.
The second victim in a Hartford hit-and-run has died, according to police and family members. Catalina Melendez, 23, died following a hit and run that happened just over a week ago. She had been in critical condition but passed away on Tuesday evening.
New Haven police, Yale officials respond to fatal incident on York Street
Police are investigating after a two car, head-on crash left one person dead. The crash happened Tuesday night just before 11 on Albany Avenue. Police say one of the cars crossed over the double yellow line into the opposite lane. There were four people in the car. The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital. Two women passengers have head trauma and are currently in the ICU. The other passenger, a man, has a broken hip and other lacerations.
A South Windsor man died after a motor vehicle crash on Route 20 in Windsor on Monday evening, police said. Kyle Timothy Puttin was driving eastbound on Route 20 near Route 75 when police said he "lost control of the vehicle" and went off the highway around 4:30 p.m. Police said Puttin went down an embankment and hit a tree.

Police say they arrested a 19-year-old on Saturday and charged him with murder. The investigation began with the shooting of Khali Davis who was gunned down at the corner of Maple and Kossuth Streets on the city’s east side back on December 23rd, 2017. Davis fell into the Maple Street Mini Market and was dead by the time first responders arrived.
A good Samaritan prevented two men from robbing the local SmashBurger Friday night. Royshon Ferguson and Greg Mclaurin enter the restaurant on Boston Post Road. Ferguson was carrying a .22 handgun. The two men ordered all the workers and customers into the kitchen. Mclaurin then ordered the manager to open the safe or he would shoot her in the head.
West Haven man is facing second-degree sexual assault charges for allegedly impregnating an underage high school student
A man has been shot, and police are looking for whoever is responsible. The victim was shot in the leg at Krauszer's Convenience Store. Police say it happened between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m.
A Connecticut man has pleaded guilty to reduced charges for an assault that left a 2-year-old girl blind in one eye. The Stamford Advocate reports 32-year-old Pedro Salinas, of Norwalk, Connecticut, pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree assault, fourth-degree sexual assault and two felony counts of risk of injury to a minor.
