Fire officials in Bridgeport say a house fire from over the weekend may have been intentionally set. The fire department was called to a house Sunday morning on Reservoir Avenue. The outside of the home was damaged.

United Illuminating crews are on scene making repairs after wires come down in the area of Allings Crossing Road in West Haven early Monday. The cause of the downed lines is still be determined and currently about 54 customers are without power. There are no road closures in the area.
Student at Cheshire High School was arrested Sunday after officials said a threat was made against the school.
A Hartford man set fire to the house he lived in yesterday afternoon, destroying the building and displacing three families according to police. He’s now under arrest. Firefighters arriving at 14 Brook Street yesterday saw heavy smoke and flames coming from a two-story home. The families inside immediately rushed out. No one was injured but firefighters said that an elderly woman had to be escorted to safety.
A Meriden man is in State Police custody after he tried to run over a Mohegan Tribal officer and then started a police chase Saturday morning. A Bridgeport man is accused of stabbing his teenage niece to death at an apartment on Fairfield Avenue Monday night. Police said the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Richard Segabiro, called 911 around 10 p.m. and said he had killed his 16-year-old daughter. Police responded to his apartment at 2292 Fairfield Avenue and found Segabiro covered in flood and his niece, who he raised as his daughter, dead in the bathroom. She had multiple stab wounds, police said.

Police have charged three men for a violent home invasion that happened last fall. At 1:00 am on November 23, 2017 police responded to a 9-1-1 call from 7 Midwood Drive. The caller said several people had broken into the residence and viciously assaulted one of the occupants. Officers found a male victim suffering from numerous stab and slash wounds. An ambulance took the victim to Norwalk Hospital.
